Scott's Debut CD "North" is dedicated to the memory of his father Bart van Teeffelen (1937 - 2003). The North project was started shortly after his dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but his dad passed away before the project could be finished. The song "Bart's Road" was written by Scott a few weeks after his dad passed away and the first verse is pretty much his dad's life in a nutshell until Scott was born in 1969.
Bart van Teeffelen was the youngest of 7 children growing up in war torn Holland during the 2nd World War. He came to Canada in 1955 from Megen, Holland and his cousin provided him a job at Memory Lodge on Pine Bay, about a 10 minute drive to the US/Canada border at Grand Portage, Mn. He continued doing odd jobs around Fort William (now Thunder Bay, South) until he got a job as a hard rock gold miner in Red Lake, Ontario. He later landed a job as a Recovery Boiler Operator with American Can of Can (now Marathon Pulp) in Marathon, Ontario. While in Marathon he met a young lady by the name of Beverly DeGagne and the rest is history.

He will be fondly remembered and profoundly missed.
